Welcome to The Brockenhurst Village Trust

The Brockenhurst Village Trust (BVT) is a community-led charitable organisation, incorporated on 15 November 2000 as a Company Limited by Guarantee. Established with a mission to enrich village life in Brockenhurst through educational, recreational, and social opportunities.

We operate from the Brockenhurst Community Hub on Highwood Road, bringing people together to celebrate, learn, and grow in the heart of the New Forest. But this isn’t all we do…

What is the Brockenhurst Village Trust?

BVT exists to provide educational, recreational, and other community facilities for the benefit and social welfare of the people of Brockenhurst. We do this through charitable means, guided by our founding documents and charity articles.

We are more than just a Village Hall. The Trust is responsible for:

  • The Highwood Road site, including the Community Hub and its facilities
  • The MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) and surrounding green space
  • The Charity Shop on Brookley Road
  • The Brockenhurst Community Action Group
  • Supporting and leading wider community wellbeing initiatives

What Does This Mean for the Village?

BVT is:

  • A village asset with a clear vision to foster community spirit and enhance quality of life
  • A hub for social, recreational, sporting, learning, and wellbeing activities
  • A facilitator of village-wide communication and collaboration
  • A supporter of local campaigns and initiatives
  • Open and transparent in its strategy, communications, and operations
  • Led by trustees who act in the best interests of the community

Our Vision and Strategy

Our vision is:

“To foster a sense of community and enhance quality of life at the heart of Brockenhurst – a trusted and connected facility, led by and used by our community. To be the hub for social, recreational, sporting, learning and wellbeing activities; to act as a catalyst for personal and community growth and development; and to ensure a place where everyone feels safe, welcomed and included.”

We are guided by a 2022–2027 strategy, reviewed annually and reported on at each Trust meeting. It provides the framework for decision-making, investment, and prioritisation through an annual business planning cycle.

Our Strategic Priorities:

  1. A Trusted & Connected Community
  2. Flexible Facilities Meeting Evolving Needs
  3. Continued Journey to Organisational Excellence

Governance and People

The Trust is governed by 11 volunteer trustees from across Brockenhurst. They bring a wide range of experience and local knowledge, overseeing the Trust’s strategic direction, financial management, and day-to-day operations.

Trustees work closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to deliver meaningful projects that benefit Brockenhurst and its residents.
