Zumba Gold with Gill

Zumba gold is a wonderful fun way to get a bit of exercise.

The class is influenced by dance from around the world.

The music is eclectic and upbeat. The pace is energetic. The moves are low impact on the body.

This class is especially good for people who are new to exercise & are looking for a class with achievable goals for getting fit.

And, most of all it will make you smile.

The Brockenhurst Wine Club is a friendly and fun club which meets monthly in the Brockenhurst Village Hall.

The aim of the Club is to explore a wide range of wines that people may not have come across, in a range of budgets, and learn something about how and where they are made, as well as getting to know other like-minded people.

We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. The Club is open to all, and has an annual subscription of £35 (payable in two instalments of £20 and £15) with a session fee of £15. This includes 2 tasting glasses. It is fine to come along for two or three sessions and see if it works for you, and then we’d ask for your membership subscription. The fees cover the cost of the wine and the presenter, and the small fee for room hire at the Village Hall.

New Forest Cycling Club - Winter Indoor Training

New Forest Cycling Club Winter Sessions

The club meets at the Village Hall during the winter months (Nov-March) for indoor training.

The club was established in 1934 so we are well on our way to our 85th year. Being based in the heart of the beautiful New Forest National Park we are able to enjoy our riding on scenic and mostly traffic-free roads.

We have Group Rides on Saturdays throughout the year and we stage Time-trial events for club members and visitors every Tuesday evening from mid-April through to the end of August. Our courses may not be the fastest around, but they are much more enjoyable than racing along main roads … you just have to be prepared to dodge the occasional New Forest Pony!

Brockenhurst & Sway Day Care Centre

The Day Centre is an independent self-funding Day Centre run under the auspices of Age Concern Hampshire.

The group, for up to 15 people, who are referred through the local Surgeries, meets every Friday at the Village Hall in Brockenhurst, with various activities, entertainments and outings arranged throughout the year.

The Centre is staffed by a manager, a cook and a team of dedicated volunteers.

What does a typical day look like?

Every day is different, but you can expect it to be like this:

  • A wheelchair-accessible minibus will come and pick you up from your house to take you to our day centre. Most Age UKs offer this optional transport service.
  • Settle into the centre over a cup of tea and a chat
  • Morning activities will begin
  • A freshly-prepared hot lunch will be served by our staff
  • More activities will be organised for after lunch
  • When the day is over, the minibus will drop you back at your house at an agreed time.

Yoga for the over 50’s

My style of teaching is quite informal because we’re all built differently. You have to work with what you’ve got – not against it!

So no matter what your abilities or needs, I can help you benefit from yoga. We can’t all get our legs round our ears!

I’m a Sivananda trained yoga teacher and I offer an eclectic mix of yoga styles based on Sivananda, Yin and Hatha yoga. Working with people of all abilities and needs, I use postures, breathing, relaxation techniques and laughter to help release  blockages, relieve tension and promote a general sense of wellbeing.
